The iPhone version of Call Control for BroadSoft BroadWorks have now also been updated to support R18 and was released to the App Store over the weekend.
This update (v1.38) also features a few UI changes related to iOS5 (mostly new colors) and some text changes.
The Android version of Call Control for BroadSoft BroadWorks v1.04 is now available at the Android Market. This update introduces
- support for BroadWorks R18 (and while at it, also R13)
- a few UI improvements related to devices with large displays (Galaxy Nexus and tablets)
- “display options” for Enterprise contacts (control of display and sort order of contacts)
Working with apps that rely on OCI communication, it’s often a good help to know how reliable the EWS is responding to your app’s requests – so that when users are complaining you’ll be able to sort away those support requests that are really related to reliability issues on the server side.
Checking the ability to answer on e.g. port 2208 is fine, but not a good picture of the fairly complicated mechanism that handles a complete OCI session – being a big fan of Smokeping, I put together a quick perl script that does a complete OCI login and logout session and then reports the time it took.
Using that on e.g. BroadSoft’s sandbox, Smokeping provides me with graphs like this:
The Smokeping Probe wrapper is at OCITester.pm and the script that does the actual checking is ociping.pl
(note that the Probe wrapper assumes ociping.pl to be available as /usr/local/bin/ociping.pl)
To use it you will need to add:

to the Probes section of the Smokeping config and then for each target something like this:

Version 1.33 of Call Control for iPhone was made available on the App Store on Sep 7 sporting support for
- CommPilot Express profile selection
- Simultaneous Ring (personal) settings
- Calling Line ID Delivery Blocking setting
- Access to Enterprise Directory and the Personal Phone List from the Contacts tab
- SSL Support for OCI.
and on Sep 15 the app was updated to v1.34 with a couple of bug fixes:
- fixed issue when changing account information where information from old account was retained in some cases.
- fixed issue with network activity indicator not always being turned off.
Call Control for BroadWorks v1.02 is now available on the Android Market. Besides a few stability fixes, this version includes
- CommPilot Express profile selection
- Simultaneous Ring (personal) settings
- Calling Line ID Delivery Blocking setting
- New tab with Enterprise Directory – and the Personal Phone List (if populated) is now used as favorites (star key on the keypad).
- Redial – the keypad now remembers the last number dialed (or gets it from the call log when started the first time).

Call Control v1.01 is finally available at the Android Market – like it’s iPhone sibling, it allows you to originate calls from your Android phone through your BroadSoft BroadWorks powered desk phone and enables easy control of Remote Office, BroadWorks Anywhere, DND and Call Forwarding settings while on the move.
It also supports joining/unjoining of any call centers you are a member of as well as access to your desk phones call log.

Remote Office allows you to originate calls from your Android through your BroadWorks powered desk phone and enables easy control of Remote Office, DND and Call Forwarding settings while on the move.
It also supports joining/unjoining of any call centers you are a member of as well as access to your desk phones call log.
Remote Office works with the Xtended Marketplace of BroadSoft – utilizing the integration of marketplace with the affiliated service providers to validate user account information and automatically configure the App (and thereby reducing support needs).
If you are with a service provider and would like to see how the Remote Office App works with your BroadWorks system, fell free to request an activation code from support@winther.dk (please include username and OCI Hostname that it should work with)…..

Remote Office for iPhone have just been updated to v1.32 and now
- handles transfer of incoming calls (via keypad) *)
- includes basic Call Center support (join / unjoin the Call Centers you are a member of)
v1.32 also includes these bug fixes:
- Fixes a bug that could crash the app when viewing the call log and some entries have a timestamp in GMT 0.
- Faster startup, and also fixes an issue with the app hanging for 30s at startup
